A Happy Halloween Means Safety First

Before letting your little trick-or-treater loose this Halloween, make sure he or she is armed with a checklist of "dos" and "don'ts" that will make for a safe and fun-filled night for all.

Topping the list -- be sure your child can safely navigate the neighborhood, especially once darkness has settled.

Did You Know?

  • 15 million blood cells are produced and destroyed in the human body every second.
  • The brain uses more than 25% of the oxygen used by the human body.
  • 20/20 vision means the eye can see normally at 20 feet. 20/15 is better; the eye can see at 20 feet what another eye sees at 15 feet.
  • Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning.
  • In 10 minutes, a hurricane releases more energy than all of the world's nuclear weapons combined.

Riddle Me

Four jolly men sat down to play,
And played all night till the break of day.
They played for cash and not for fun,
With a separate score for every one.
When it came time to square accounts,
They all had made quite fair amounts.
Now, not one has lost and all have gained,
Tell me, now, this can you explain?

Send us your answer and we'll publish it next week.

Last Week's Riddle:

What question can you never answer "yes" to?

The answer is: The official answer is: Are your asleep? or Are you Dead? However, the very best answer submitted by John Lillard is: Honey, do these pants make me look fat?
